How to bridge and redeem Monero with ZeroFi
ZeroFi turns XMR into zXMR on Ethereum Sepolia, then lets users request XMR back. The live route uses Monero mainnet funds and Sepolia test tokens.

ZeroFi lets users send Monero (XMR) and receive zXMR, a wrapped token, on Ethereum Sepolia, a test network. The route can help you try using XMR in an EVM wallet, but the zXMR you receive is a test token, not spendable ETH mainnet funds.
For a trial, have an XMR wallet and an Ethereum wallet set to Sepolia. You will need Sepolia ETH to pay transaction gas, the network fee for Ethereum actions. In the bridge screen, connect the Ethereum wallet and check that the direction is XMR to zXMR. The zerofi route currently lists a 0.01 XMR minimum and says deposits are credited after 10 confirmations.
How do you bridge XMR with ZeroFi?
Choose the XMR deposit route, enter an amount that meets the displayed minimum, and use the receiving address shown by the interface. Send XMR from your Monero wallet to that address. The bridge screen reports the fee and expected zXMR before you send, so check both the destination and amount first.
After the required confirmations, the interface says the deposit is credited as zXMR to the connected Ethereum wallet. If the balance does not appear, check the bridge’s transaction status and confirm that the wallet is still on Sepolia. You can also search the deposit or request in ZeroFi’s explorer.
- Fund the connected wallet with Sepolia ETH for Ethereum gas.
- Check the XMR minimum, fee, destination network and receiving address.
- Send only after the amount and wallet details match the bridge screen.
- Wait for the displayed confirmation requirement before treating zXMR as credited.
How do you redeem zXMR for Monero?
Use the bridge’s withdraw direction to send zXMR back to XMR. Connect the wallet that holds zXMR, select the amount, and provide the Monero destination address shown or requested by the interface. Review the withdrawal details and confirm the Ethereum transaction. The bridge then processes the return, so check its status before assuming the XMR has arrived.
This round trip crosses two systems: an Ethereum transaction burns or locks the wrapped token, while the bridge coordinates the XMR payout. That makes redemption dependent on the bridge processing the request as well as on Ethereum gas. Keep enough Sepolia ETH for the withdrawal transaction.
What should you know before using the ZeroFi bridge?
ZeroFi’s published test-bridge announcement says the route connects Ethereum Sepolia with Monero mainnet and recommends testing with no more than 0.001 XMR. The current interface, however, lists a 0.01 XMR minimum. Since those figures do not match, check the live amount rules before sending; do not assume a smaller deposit will work.
The key trade-off is clear: you use real XMR on Monero, but receive zXMR on a test network. Treat the transfer as a test, not as a way to move usable XMR into Ethereum mainnet DeFi. For most readers, the sensible first step is to verify the displayed route and try only an amount they can afford to have delayed or lose.
